There are basically four components in electronics They are:

1 Resistors

2 Diodes/Transistor

3 Inductors/Coils

4 Capacitors

Resistor resist the flow of electricity.

To determine the value of a resistor (or how much resistance a resistor has) we use this color code system.

To help you understand the color code system, complete this assignment.

Alternative assignment (recommended) :

Have each student take several random resisters, decode them, and then check there work with a Meeter.
